Mustaches and Dance Parties

Friday was one of the more unique spirit days that I can recall, mustache day!  Everything mustache is big with the students these days and kids the students went all out!  Here is a sampling of the mustaches found in the Lily Pad.

The students also earned a special celebration for outstanding behavior and they chose to have a dance party, a potluck and a bring in their favorite stuffed animals.

We work hard every day in the Lilly Pad, but also work hard at having fun!

Pigs stored in the first capitol building? What?!?

Students have been working in groups to learn more about Madison during the early stages of Wisconsin becoming a state. There are 5 groups who are becoming "experts" on the following areas: traveling in the 1800 (Journey to Wisconsin), James Doty, and the first, second and the third capitol buildings.  Students will be presenting their information and teaching the rest of the class on Tuesday.  Students have chosen a variety of ways to share their knowledge: Writing a newspaper, doing a newscast, writing a skit and/or writing a song.  Most groups have elected to combine a few of these ideas for their projects. We have some very creative students and the projects are all unique, entertaining and informative.

Perimeter - Measuring the distance around an object
