Students in the Lily Pad had fun preparing for and celebrating Valentine's Day. First, they created Valentine's creatures in which to collect their special notes and treats from their peers and the teachers.
After the bags were made, it was then time to hand out the valentines and to eat all the creative and semi-healthy red, white and pink food.
The day ended with a time-honored Lily Pad tradition Minute to Win it Valentine's Style! Students competed in 4 different games: the marshmallow toss, candy heart stack, cookie face and heart pick up. A great time was had by all!
In other news, students have been working on determining the area and perimeter of different rectangular objects. The culminating project for this was for students to design their own dream house. Once the house was designed, they calculated the area and perimeter of each room.
