Animal Research Completed

We are proud to announce that the students have complete their animal research and published their books!  Students worked hard on this project and created interesting and informative eBooks.  These books can be accessed via the link below.

Once you get to the LMC site, click on Mrs. Mack's class and find the book you would like to read!

Once the books were completed, the students presented them to their classmates.  We were all entertained and informed.  Please click on the link and enjoy these books.  If you would like a copy of the link sent to your email, just let me know.

Fractions

We wrapped up our fractions unit this past week.  Students worked with fraction strips to compare, order, read and write fractions.  They worked with putting fractions on a number line and with using fractions as an operator in a number story.  Overall, the kids in the Lily Pad did a great job with such a difficult mathematical concept.

Angles

We are revisiting geometry for our next unit of study.  This time, students will be learning and using more of the vocabulary associated with geometry.  They are learning about right angles, acute angles, obtuse angles, polygons and quadrilaterals.  We are also using the terms congruent, parallel and perpendicular when we describe various shapes.

The Urban Adventure

Just a heads up that our Urban Adventure will be on Friday, May 2nd.  There was a note sent home last week with students.  If you are interested and available to be a chaperone for this trip, just let us know.  This is an amazing trip and opportunity for the third graders.
