Students were assigned various resources like money, belongings and food.
They were then lined up and asked questions like, "Do you have a job?" or "Do you have enough money?"
You Ribbit Awards
This quarter students have been nominating each other of You Ribbit Awards. These awards are a way of acknowledging kind, caring and respectful acts that happen each and every day.Persuasive Writing
We are wrapping up our persuasive writing unit this week. Students picked an environmental topic to research and then they took a stand. Students then used all their newly gained knowledge and wrote persuasive texts.
Issues ranged from Climate Change to Air Pollution to Recycling to Deforestation. On Thursday, students will be sharing their writing with third graders in Ms. Miller's and Ms. Henze's class, trying to persuade them.
Students also made protest signs to help spread the word. The signs had a slogan that encouraged a behavior, for example Check Your Labels Know What's on Your Tables.
Friendly Reminder
This is a reminder about the Urban Adventure on Friday. Please make sure students have a cold lunch, comfortable shoes, a backpack, and an umbrella. Optional items are a watch and a camera. Thanks to all the parents who volunteered their time. This is an incredible trip and I look forward to sharing photos with you next week!
Also, Friday, May 23 is the Lily Pad's annual trek to the Henry Vials Zoo and to my house!
