What a Way to Begin!

We have had an amazing opening to the 2016-2017 School Year!  The new students in the Lily Pad are excited to learn and are working hard to form a Kind, Caring, Respectful, Responsible and Safe Community.

A big focus for us this year in our learning community is for students to practice using a Growth Mindset.  We talk about this as the Power of Yet!  Instead of saying "I can't do this!" Students can simple add YET... "I can't do this YET."

Here is a link to Carol Dweck's TED talk. She is a world leading researcher on motivation and achievement as it relates to mindset. It's worth watching if you are unfamiliar with her work.

Wednesdays with Rena

At the beginning of this school year we will be working with Rena Kornblum, Executive Director, Hancock Center for Dance/Movement Therapy. Rena will be working with us on spatial awareness, self control and stress management.
