Once Upon a Weirdo

The LilyPad Players had a lot of fun writing, creating and performing their original script, Once Upon a Weirdo.  The audiences, young and old, enjoyed the performance and we got rave reviews.  The students helped the story and the characters come alive!  Thanks to all who attended and helped with our costumes.

Cleaning CAN be fun!

The students were surprised when I told them we were cleaning our desks with shaving cream!  We had a lot of fun cleaning and creating.

Our last day of school was filled with celebrating our community through tee shirts and awards and celebrating the year with a picnic and games at Yahara Park.  A few weeks ago I had students use three positive adjectives to describe everyone in the classroom.  I then took those adjectives and created a unique shirt for each child.
(Note: I used a different brand of t-shirt transfer paper and it seemed to be of an inferior quality.  I am happy to print a new transfer and send it to you.  Just drop me an email.  I will mail the transfer and direction on how to transfer it to a shirt.  SORRY!)

Along with the t-shirt, each child received an award from me, too.  Here is a photo of our class with their awards.

After our award's ceremony, we headed to the park for play, games, lunch and crafts.  It was a beautiful day to have a picnic!

It is hard to believe that this is the final Lily Pad post for 2012-13.  I want to take the time to let you know how much fun I have had teaching your children this year.  We formed a kind and caring community.  Your children are smart, creative, compassionate and enthusiastic learners.  I will miss them next year but look forward to seeing them returning as fourth graders.  I wish a fun-filled summer to you all.  Thanks for sharing your children with me this year.  It was a honor teaching them and watching them grow and flourish!

Hoppy Summer!

  1. Thank YOU so much for a fantastic year! I think that about once a week during the school year, Jackson would come home and tell me something great/interesting/creative that happened at school, and I would say "I think that this has been your best year yet!" and he always agreed. Thank you!
