We had a perfect day for our trip to the Henry Vilas Zoo and then over to my house for the World's Biggest Sundae. However, hundreds of other school children agreed that the day was perfect and they all headed to the zoo, too! Lots of buses and kids running around looking at the exhibits.
After running around the zoo, we headed across the street and were greeted by my husband Dave and the dogs! We ate lunch quickly so we could get to the main event...ice cream in the gutters!
Now, I had a bit of fun with the kiddos in the days leading up to the ice cream. They were very curious about the gutters and how this whole thing worked. Here is the sundae in the making. As you can see it takes a lot of adults to serve a sundae of this proportion!
After all the prep work, the feeding frenzy began! A GREAT time was had by all!
I can't believe it took me so long to post these photos from our zoo trip! We have been very busy in the Lily Pad and at Marquette.
Ms. Heindel, our librarian, arranged for a cartoonist/graphic novel writer to speak with the students at Marquette. He was fantastic! He took ideas from the audience for a villain and a hero and then, with the help of the students, created a comic. We had Super Louis vs Mr Vile (and evil panda).
Only 4 more school days! How can that be possible!
We have two more performances of Once Upon a Weirdo! If you have not seen it you still have time! It is getting Rave Reviews from audiences young and old (especially Dr. Who fans!) I will post photos from the show once I recruit a photographer.
We are performing on Monday at 8:15 and Tuesday at 10:20.
Enjoy your weekend.
