Marquette Mile

Even though it was a bit chilly, a good time was had by all on Marquette Mile Day.  The students were filled with positive energy making the walk-run-skip a snap.  We all began in the cafeteria, did some stretches and then headed off.  Upon completing the mile students enjoyed a refreshing cup of water and some oranges slices.

Thanks to all who supported our efforts.  The money raised helps to fund 3 community-building field trips: The 3rd Grade Urban Adventure, the 4th Grade Caving Trip and the Fifth Grade Ropes Course (both low and high.)

Yoga

As a part of social and emotional learning time. students participate in yoga. The use of Yoga has proven to help students improve their focus, learning readiness, behavioral and emotional stability.  It also allows a time for students to move, causing blood flow to the brain.  Besides...it's fun!

Line Plots

Students have been using the data they have collected during while measuring to create a line plot. A line plot shows data on a number line with x or other marks to show frequency.

Examples of Line Plot
  • The line plot shows the types of shoes owned by a group of students.
The count of marks above each cateogry tells you the number of shoes the student has in the respective category.

Phrases students use to describe their noticings.
