On Friday, our student authors shared their final copies of their personal narratives with classmates. We got into groups of 3 and shared books, listened attentively and gave feedback. The students worked hard on their books and were excited to read them to their friends.
Our next writing unit with be informational writing. Students will be researching a country and will be writing about what they learned and then presenting it to the class. You will be invited to join us for this presentation. Stay tuned for more information.

Mock Rocks
Students finally determined all the minerals that composed our mock rocks. We determined that the minerals were:
red pebbles, blue pebbles, shells (from observation and breaking the rock apart)
sand and flour (from adding water to the gray matter, mixing it up and then letting it settle)
kosher salt and alum (from letting the water evaporated and identifying the crystals)
