WOW! How many days?? Not enough, that's for sure! I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching your children this year. What an amazing group of learners! It is so fun to show up to work everyday when you know that you will receive a hug, a cheer and a smile.
Please humor me with this story. Several weeks ago we had several visitors come to Marquette. They happened to show up during math. The students were very engaged in the tasks at hand and were, of course, working cooperatively with each other. When I called the students back together to discuss the activities, partners eagerly participated in the discussion and had insightful comments. I then explained our next activity and literally got a cheer and round of applause...REALLY? How can I not LOVE this job and YOUR children. When is the last time you received a round of applause on your job?? It has been such an honor and pleasure to teach your children. Thank you for lending them to me this year. It will be a tearful goodbye for me on June 12.
That being said, there is still a LOT on our schedule! The first is our trip to the zoo and to my house. This happens on Friday and we are all so excited. The weather is cooperating (70s and sunny!) and the dogs have been bathed.
Our next big event is THE PLAY. We have been working hard on this production and it has taken up a lot of our time and energy. I hope you all can join us for one of our performances. The writing is amazing (written by 8 of our students) and the acting is top-notch! Please let me know if you need to know the times of our performances. The first one is Monday, June 4 at 10:00.
