Friday Fun Day

Marquette Day @ Sara Lee Outlet:  Marquette has been the voted the “favorite school” at the Sara Lee Outlet on East Washington for the month of September.  This means that on Wednesday, October 26th, 15% of the store proceeds will be donated to Marquette.  We will publicize this to our parents when the date gets closer because the more people that shop, the more we make for our school!

It was a gorgeous end to a lovely week!  We could not have asked for better weather.  The sun was shining and the breeze was blowing.  While we do a lot of work, we also take time out of our busy day to run around and enjoy these final days of summer like weather.

A word from Ms. Miller:

Working Together for a Good Cause!

It is one of our principle responsibilities as teachers to demonstrate to our students how to be respectful, kind, and caring citizens. Ms. Miller is trying to inspire the 3rd graders to become involved in a way which benefits the welfare of others and their community’s environment. With the help of some students, as well as the drawing club, there will be flyers calling out to the 3rd graders and their friends who have an idea of how to make our school, classroom, or community a better place! A group of 3rd grade boys in Ms. Mack’s class, for example, have already taken the initiative to have a lunch bunch with Ms. Miller and make a plan to have a fundraiser to collect “PhysEdibles” at lunch. This will go towards new recess equipment, and maybe some supplies for the classroom, art room, or gym. The Lily Pad will also be having a guest speaker, Laurie Irwin, from the Ronald McDonald House come in next week. She will talk to the students about the McDonald House and ways the students can help!
