Today was a big day in the Lily Pad. We took out the Yoga mats and practiced some breathing, stretching, and balance. The students were naturals and we all enjoyed ourselves. We plan to incorporate Yoga for about half an hour every other week.
Here is a little snippet of our yoga session. We were practicing some of the moves in a sun salute.
During Science, students made a prediction about how many drops of water could fit on the head of a penny. Needless to say, students were surprised by the results. They learned about the power of surface tension. Ask your child what their results were. Sorry for the lack of photos from this science unit. I was out of the classroom and did not get the photos.

Upcoming Events in the Lily Pad and at Marquette
- October 3 - Rescheduling of the Pancake Breakfast! (8:00 - 9:30 in the Lily Pad!)
- Writing : Revising Leads, beginning drafts of personal narratives, exploring and drafting satisfying endings.
- Math: Problem Solving
- Science: Working more with simple chemistry experiments.
- Reading: working on monitoring our inner conversations: guiding reading group work. (FINALLY finishing classroom assessments!)
