Today in science we did a fun experiment that involved vinegar, baking soda, food coloring... need we say more? We used this experiment to further explore a chemical reaction, producing carbon dioxide. Listen to one of our scientists explain her prediction.

The results: The reaction happened but the bags held in the carbon dioxide. We discussed that sometimes experiments do not produce the results as expected. We wondered if the Ziploc bags (double zipper freezer bags) were too strong for the amount of CO2 we produced. Scientists will be trying this at home and reporting their results to our class. Despite the lack of "explosion" the students still had fun!
The third grade was again visited by representatives of the Elks Club. One of their service projects to to present third grade students with a dictionary and resource book. Students were very excited about this gift and are anxious to use them in their daily work.

- All homework due by Friday in order to be eligible for school store coupon drawing.
